EEC Holds Annual Conference

Held under the patronage of Bishop Dr. Sani Ibrahim Azar, and in partnership with the Environmental Quality Authority and IUCN Palestine, the conference brings together national and international experts to discuss ecocide, climate change, and artificial intelligence.

Bishop Azar highlighted four decades of environmental leadership by the Evangelical Lutheran Church and the Environmental Education Center, while Governor Hussein Hamayel emphasized Jericho’s commitment to environmental protection and afforestation.

Speakers addressed the severe environmental destruction in Gaza and the West Bank and called for shared responsibility, accountability, and nature-based solutions to protect people and the environment.

The conference continues tomorrow with specialized sessions on environmental recovery, legal accountability, and ethical approaches to artificial intelligence.
